head-lice-vs-bed-bug.jpg

A client came in because she believed she had head lice. She had found a bug on her head the previous day. When she showed me the bug, I told her that this bug was not head lice, but I proceeded to check her. I told her that the bug looked more like a bed bug than head lice. The bug was reddish brown, and looked rounder than a louse. When I checked her, I concluded that she did not have lice. She left happy knowing she did not have head lice, but afraid that what she found  on her head was a bed bug. The difference between head lice and bed bugs is that bed bugs are rounder. While both bugs are brown, head lice is a darker brown, and bed bugs are a lighter brown and red.
