Head Lice Busting in San Francisco

Head Lice and Comedy

A friendly client in Chicago got chatting to our team, and it turns out she's a stand-up comedian/writer. She told us she's going to use her Hair Fairies experience in an upcoming skit!! Our Chicago team thinks this is awesome and are all going along to support her. We'll keep you posted on the show! In other words: Hair Fairies gets rid of head lice AND brings smiles!

Head Lice and Science

A research team based at the University of Illinois has sequenced the genome of the human head louse! Here's what they say: "The body louse has the smallest number of detoxification enzymes observed in any insect. The body louse's pared-down list of detoxifying enzymes makes it an attractive organism for the study of resistance to insecticides or other types of chemical defense. The body louse is completely dependent on humans for its survival; it will die if separated from its host for very long. It is just as reliant on a microbe that lives inside it: the bacterium Candidatus Riesia pediculicola." Perhaps the study will one day help result in new ways to get rid of head lice. In the meantime, we recommend using our all natural and non toxic products. We have everything you need to treat head lice, without using dangerous chemicals. Stay healthy, stay safe!

Summer Camp: Screen for Head Lice!

Time for Summer Camp! Awesome fun for the kids, but issues like head lice can be a big concern for parents. Don't worry folks, Hair Fairies to the rescue! We are offering free summer camp head lice screenings in many areas, just call 1 877 285 0069 for details. Don't let head lice spoil summer camp! The New York Department of Health recommends "regular direct inspection of children for head lice, and when indicated, of body and clothing, particularly of children in schools, institutions, nursing homes and summer camps, is important." Sweet Home Chicago

We had the most adorable little boy in the Chicago salon today! He had a plastic green Yoda ring on from Party City. So, he comes up to Lindsey and holds out his fist with the ring on it and he says: "You haven't seen a ring like this have you?" Lindsey says that, no she hasn't, and then he asks in his best Star Wars voice "You wanna be my friend?" So cute!!

Head Lice and Story Time in San Francisco

We had a lovely storytelling session with a family yesterday, in our salon in San Francisco. While we were combing out her daughter and son, a mother read us Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs? and several chapters of little house on the Prairie. It was divine! A beautiful bonding experience for everyone. That's what it's all about.

Head Lice Training in LA!
