Hair Fairies Story! As I walked into my home on a rainy winter day, I was greeted by my roommates sitting in the living room waiting for me. One proceeded to say "just the girl of the conversation!" I asked, why? The girls had just been talking about my work, Hair Fairies the Head Lice Helpers. They began to ask common questions and proceeded with mentioning myths. Not only would I have caught it , but I would have spread it to them and to other people around me. They then realized I had never caught head lice. They finally agreed with me. Younger kids like hugging, and being held when they feel sad. If you hold a child with head lice for as little as one minute, you take the risk of getting head lice. It only takes half a second for  head lice to travel from hair to hair. It is very important for you as a teacher to protect yourself from getting head lice. It is best if your hair is tied up in a bun or braid, no loose ponytails. If your school constantly gets head lice, tea tree oil is a great preventive to keep lice away as well as our environment spray, which can also help to kill and repel head lice from your class. There was a family who came in to Hair Fairies New York lice treatment salon, which the mom believed that her daughter had given her head lice. Once the treatment was done, it was noticeable that mom was the lice transmitter as she was the culprit who got head lice first. The mom is a teacher at a preschool, and her class was battling head lice. Since the kids are still small, they like to be held. Follow up with Head Lice At Hair Fairies Chicago lice treatment salon we had a parent bring us cupcakes from Molly’s Cupcakes down the street. They were so good! The client is actually a teacher at a school where we did a free school screening recently. The teacher came in for a head lice screening for herself, since we found Head Lice on six of her students.  She said she has taken all the necessary precautions to avoid a lice outbreak in her class, and this still happened. The teacher had all the students put their coats in bags every morning, rugs vacuumed daily, and all stuffed animals put away. “Why would this still happen?” she asked. Well…unfortunately this can happen by children still having lice. Many parents deal with these pesky parasites at home and think they got rid of the lice infestation, but unfortunately 2 weeks later they have it again. But in reality it is the same head lice infestation.  If one nit is missed, in 2 weeks the infestation can start all over again.   It is important to complete all lice treatments, or follow throughs when dealing with Head Lice.  So that way Head Lice can stay away for good! Apparently Hair Fairies' appointment reminder cards not only act as a friendly reminder to those clients who have been found to have a severe head lice infestation and require 1 follow up head lice treatment, but as we found out today, they also serve as one of our "little" clients trading cards at his school. He said "Hair Fairies' cards are a hot commodity." He was so exited when I gave him a couple extra cards. I can truly say that I learn something new everyday at our Hair Fairies Los Angeles lice removal location. Who knew that one day Hair Fairies would be as cool as those popular pokemon cards! 

The Case of the Nurse substitute!

The Case of the Nurse substitute! Children’s head lice can go undetected in schools for months on end. It isn't until itching persists and/ or bugs and eggs are found on the scalp and in the hair that their lice is found. Some families get lucky in detecting lice early and get treated before the lice infestation gets any worse. There are also some families that may be misdiagnosed and get screened by a Hair Fairy Technician right away to find that they are completely clear of Head Lice. It is not a bad thing, but rather a good thing to be screened right away. In this special case a Frantic mother called minutes after hearing of her two daughters having lice. She called Hair Fairies as she picked up her girls from school and was able to book lice screenings for the whole family. As we started with the daughters, one mentioned “I can feel the bugs crawling everywhere!” We quickly came to find that they were ALL lice free and the substitute school nurse made a mistake and misdiagnosed them. We also heard from the daughters that they were referred by their best friends and the reason they wanted to go to Hair Fairies was because their friends had so much fun watching movies and coloring while getting treated for lice!
