Head Lice and Hair Fairies on the Doctors TV Show with Dr. Jim Sears

Here at Hair Fairies, we're super busy with the Back to School season, because it's also Head Lice Season! To help our wonderful clients, we've got all kinds of awesome deals, including FREE school screenings, and FREE shampoo for first time in-salon clients. But we've also been busy shooting TV shows! Dr. Jim Sears of the emmy award winning Doctors TV Show came to visit us! Dr. Sears is one of our favorite Doctors, and everyone had an awesome day! We showed Dr. Sears how we remove head lice with all natural products, and always give our clients world class customer service and smiles. The show is scheduled for October.

Hair Fairies Team Chicago Scares off the Head Lice

Hair Fairies Team Chicago gets ready to do battle with head lice! This picture was taken at a recent summer camp screening, where these super heroes screened 180 kids. It was a warm summer's day and everyone had a blast, kids, teachers and us! Hair Fairies runs free screenings for camps all the way through summer, it's one of the ways we like to contribute to the community. In fact, we do free screening in schools, thoughout the year.

Head Lice and Comedy

A friendly client in Chicago got chatting to our team, and it turns out she's a stand-up comedian/writer. She told us she's going to use her Hair Fairies experience in an upcoming skit!! Our Chicago team thinks this is awesome and are all going along to support her. We'll keep you posted on the show! In other words: Hair Fairies gets rid of head lice AND brings smiles!

Head Lice and Science

A research team based at the University of Illinois has sequenced the genome of the human head louse! Here's what they say: "The body louse has the smallest number of detoxification enzymes observed in any insect. The body louse's pared-down list of detoxifying enzymes makes it an attractive organism for the study of resistance to insecticides or other types of chemical defense. The body louse is completely dependent on humans for its survival; it will die if separated from its host for very long. It is just as reliant on a microbe that lives inside it: the bacterium Candidatus Riesia pediculicola." Perhaps the study will one day help result in new ways to get rid of head lice. In the meantime, we recommend using our all natural and non toxic products. We have everything you need to treat head lice, without using dangerous chemicals. Stay healthy, stay safe!
