Down Memory Lane!
It is always nice to see new faces at our Hair Fairies salons, but it’s also nice to remember old ones and reminisce about the good old times when we see clients return years later. People start telling their stories of the first time they got head lice and how helpful and patient we were the first time they were at Hair Fairies. Now they know to come straight to us and not worry about their head lice problems because they trust us and they know we’ll get the job done. It’s a great feeling to know that someone remembers you for a job well done months or even years later!

Are You a Concerned Parent?
We recently have had very concerned parents about their children possibly catching head lice again at school after getting treated here at Hair Fairies. We informed the parents that we offer FREE school screenings and educational workshops. One of those concerned parents was very interested in more information so we gave him a folder with plenty of informative literature in regards to head lice and our services, and our info will be passed on to the principal. If any of you are in a similar situation and would like to get more information about our services, please give us a call at 877.285.0069

Spring Break
Spring break is just around the corner and all the traveling to different countries is one way of possibly getting head lice. We at Hair Fairies suggest to purchase our Prevention Kit to take along with you on your travels as a preventative method. Please avoid sharing brushes, scrunchies, and pillows. If you do come in contact with anyone that has head lice make sure to spray our Nit-Zapping Repellent Spray on all your non-washables and use our Prevention Oil on yourself and everyone around you. It is used as a preventative agent from both getting and repelling head lice. Be safe and happy travels!

Mother Load of Information
Mother Load of Information That’s what our customers say after visiting our head lice treatment salons. With every client that walks through our doors we make sure that everyone leaves understanding the concept of head lice and what it entails. Since there is so much misinformation online and people tend to do more than what they need to do, we make sure you get educated on the subject. We provide ” A mother load of information” this way if you ever encounter lice again you know exactly what to do and just in case you forget something we are always a phone call away!

Creating Memories at Hair Fairies
Creating Memories at Hair Fairies Hair Fairies Connecticut had a six year old girl being treated for head lice. The little girl was very upset and crying when the treatment began but as time went on she started to get more relaxed, comfortable, and focused on her movie. We noticed mom taking photographs of her as she was being treated (pictures of her crying, watching the movie, and smiling toward the end of her treatment because she was happy it was over), as it turns out mom was making a scrapbook of her daughter and all the special moments throughout her life. Mom wants to create this memory book for her daughter to give to her once she gets older since this is her one and only child. Always creating memories at Hair Fairies!!!

Hair Fairies fun facts on Black History Month
Hair Fairies has another fun fact for Black History Month. Lincoln University in Pennsylvania is the first university that allowed African Americans to receive their college degrees. The school was founded for the education of African Americans who had few opportunities for higher education. From 1854-1954, Lincoln University graduates accounted for 20% of Black physicians and over 10% of Black lawyers in the United Stated. Lincoln University has numerous notable alumni, including US Supreme Court Justice, Thurgood Marshall, the first president of Nigeria, Nnamdi Azikiwe, and also the first president of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah.

Flowers vs Lice
The dad of one of our clients came in earlier this week to make sure he had not contracted head lice from his daughter. Although he was almost 100% positive he didn’t have it, he just wanted to have a professional tell him “No sir, you do not have head lice,” so that he may be on his way back to his normal routine. I began checking him and I did not find head lice, but instead I found: flowers! Tiny little yellow flowers all over his head. I had the pleasure of telling him “No sir, you do not have head lice” and was also pretty happy to add “…but you do have tiny flowers!” Turns out, being the tallest person (with the shortest hair) at home really put him at an advantage to not pick up a bug, instead his height put him at the disadvantage of the family tree brushing against his head every morning, giving him a crown of flowers every morning!

I Had No Idea My Child Had Head Lice!
If you ever notice your child scratching their head excessively give them a quick look and make sure it is not head lice. Most of the time children will not tell mom or dad their head is itchy until it is too late and you receive that dreaded phone call from school or you discover crawling bugs on their head. On average Hair Fairies sees clients that have over 100 nits (eggs) in their hair which unfortunately means they’ve had head lice for a few weeks. Think of all the people you have been in contact with before finding out you have head lice. It is very important to make sure you let friends and family know to get screened in order to protect themselves and not pass it back and forth to each other and you. You can always give us a call with any questions or concerns.
