A Connection With Your Kids

Since kids are 65% of the clients we treat for lice, it’s
important to Hair Fairies Inc. to build a connection with them. Each
child is unique and needs to be handled differently. I have interacted
with thousands of kids. Some are really friendly or shy or determined to
not comply.  I find it a healthy challenge to see if I can get through
to them quickly and in a fun and friendly manner. One example is: A
client came in with her two boys (a 2yr old and a 9 yr old). The 9 yr.
old had the same name as me! I thought this should be easy but it
wasn't.  He definitely did not want me near him. For his first lice
treatment he had to sit on his moms lap while his 2yr old bro was on
the other leg. Kinda crowded but I worked it out haha. A week later he
came in for his Guaranteed Check. I was working on another client and my
Assistant Manager was schedule to check him. When he found out that I
wasn't checking him, he started crying and begging his mom for me to
switch!! I looked at him with tears in his eyes and asked if he really
wanted me to check him. He shook his head and softly stated" Uh HUH".
His mom was so grateful that we accommodated her son. He left happy and
even asked if he could get a prize out of our treasure
chest….PRICELESS!!!
