Mom Talk about Head Lice in Chicago
Mom Talk about Head Lice in Chicago : So many of our clients at Hair Fairies Chicago are moms who’ve been referred to us by other moms. The mom chain is a powerful thing and we tend to love it as we don’t just end up getting to know one family, but we get to know that families friends as well. That’s why educating clients on Head Lice is so important. One mom inevitably tells another mom. And so on. The education spreads faster than Head Lice can. It amazes me that to this days so many people still don’t know how lice work as they’ve been with us since the pyramids. It is an honor to be able to spread the info about Head Lice and help moms educate moms everywhere.

“A Lice-mare before Christmas” at Hair Fairies San Francisco!
We had a call from a dad a few days ago and the call struck a chord in my memory bank that I have to share it with you in this blog. It wasn’t something that was neither problematic nor difficult to resolve, but it was something the dad said which fit with the occasion and made the whole head lice treatment experience just worth sharing. It was days before Christmas and I had a concerned Dad who had found nits, A.K.A Head Lice eggs on his daughter’s hair. There were no visible signs of the crawlies, A.K.A head lice bugs, but only nits. The dad booked the appointment for his daughter and his family was screened and treated. When they left after their treatments, the dad thanked us for our services, but also added how grateful it was to be helped. He said, “It was literally and would be a Lice-Mare before Christmas, if I haven’t found you guys earlier!” Hope everyone had a joyous Holiday and let’s welcome the New Year with a bang of no "Lice-mares" on Christmas or on any holiday occasions!

Hair Fairies New York Story: Creepy crawlers on christmas eve
A family got together for christmas eve. They were having a very pleasant night. They ate, took pictures, open presents and shared stories. They also had santa hats which they were all sharing to take pictures of one another. When mom was about to put the hat on she saw something brown on the hat and said this hat is dirty. When she takes a closer look, "oh my god its a bug!" Monday morning, mom and the family were at Hair Fairies New York and three of them had it.

Did you know Santa Hats can prevent you from getting Head Lice in San Francisco?
It’s not just Santa Hats, but any hat or hair coverings would do! Santa hats are just way cooler and Christmas Eve is inching ever so closely, so our Hair Fairies in San Francisco are delighted to put on our Santa hats and greet you in person when you come in and into any of our Hair Fairies Locations. Not only do we have the holiday spirit but if you do have an appointment with us, please show us your holiday spirit and come in with your Santa hats, bells, and Christmas-sy accessories. Furthermore, it’s worth the prevention when you have your own hat without sharing it with anyone else. Having your hair covered can help lower the risk of transmission, so wearing a protective covering over your hair is vital in preventing a bug from crawling onto your hair and head. It’s important to always have your own separate hat or hair coverings. If someone else uses the item, you can use our lice repellent spray and or wash it with our Laundry Additive, both in which kill head lice.

Resolution Solution
Resolution Solution Instead of a new year’s resolution — what about a plan? Instead of promises you can’t keep, how about a plan to make things better? An area of interest is broad and you find yourself beating yourself up later when you can’t keep a promise. At Hair Fairies Chicago we have some goals when it comes to the New Year: Eat healthier for lunch because a healthy lunch makes for better performance at work and life in general. Our Xmas party was great and reminded us that stronger team building on our part was very necessary. I feel like we’re closer as a team and it can only get better from here. So instead of fooling yourself into false promises, pick some areas to work on and keep it broad and forgiving. Happy New Year from Hair Fairies Chicago, the Lice Helpers!

How is head lice infestations diagnosed?
An infestation is diagnosed by looking closely through the hair and scalp for nits, nymphs, or adults. Finding a nymph or adult may be difficult; there are usually few of them and they can move quickly from searching fingers. If crawling lice are not seen, finding nits within a ¼ inch of the scalp confirms that a person is infested and should be treated.

Now imagine that your children caught Lice on top of that! At Hair Fairies Chicago we have some very nervous mothers coming to us, worrying that Christmas might take place within a shielding bubble for their kids.
