When Kids Attack / Hair Fairies Chicago
When Kids Attack / Hair Fairies Chicago I recently heard that a kid became a towel flinging barbarian at Hair Fairies Chicago. What do you do when a kid, one of which you have to scrape a metal comb across their head, becomes hostile? My solution is to make it a joke. A towel flinging at your face, a kid calling you names. It’s all something you laugh at. Show the child that they aren’t getting the response the expected and that you have risen above their threshold of effective badgering. They can’t hurt you, they can’t win. They may end up more open to you and your suggestions after that. Referring their attack on you to something a popular movie or cartoon character does may shift their focus to watching a movie or laughter. “Whoa, you fling that towel like Harry Potter flings a wand!” might distract them from the violence at hand and get them thinking about watching Harry Potter. Challenge them to a towel duel if needs be, but don’t let it get out of hand. Instead make the towel attack a positive enterprise. It can be harnessed to get the kid on your side.

Did you know that head lice are parasites?
Did you know that head lice are an a-sexual parasite? which means that they don’t need a partner to reproduce so if you have a female bug it just starts laying 4-5 eggs a day and about 150 eggs in it’s life time.

Hair Fairies San Francisco is THANKFUL!
Here at Hair Fairies-San Francisco, we are thankful for the many blessings that come with treating head lice. We know head lice- NO ONE WANTS IT and that it’s a NUISANCE. It can be a challenge without the right education and tool. This is the reason why we are here to educate and help out with the nurturing of the minds that head lice can be managed and treated within days and not weeks. We are also thankful to hear and see that the families who we help REALLY REALLY love their children!!! Ask us why and how this happens when we love our children so much that we as parents and as a family dynamic can get head lice. The saying “being close-nit” in a family is what we seldom say to help explain and make it less challenging.

Is each nit a bug?
I had a 6 year child come in for her 2nd appointment, as we where going thru her treatment she expressed how much cleaner here towel was this time around, she then said “wow I guess all the poop from all the bugs is gone!” Haha so I kindly had to give her the news that each little egg was in fact a bug wanting to develop she was sooo amazed!!

Uku from Hawaii is the thing to say!
Move over “Mele Kalikimaka” because “Ukus” is the new black! If you haven’t realized, the term Mele Kalikimaka is a Hawaiian-themed song that means Merry Christmas. Christmas is wonderful and all, but there’s a new word in town, and its Head lice! or “Uku” (ooooh-koos) We had a family from hawaii who taught us the term. We even have gotten families who have called us directly from the state, asking about our services, products, and how they found us on Dirty jobs!

Word of Mouth is Fantastic!
Here in SF, we get a lot of clients who were and are referred through families and friends who have used our service in the past. I can't imagine the level of return this brings to our salon and our company as a whole. This is the reason why we are trying to give back as much as we can with promotions like 2 Free HOURS of screenings in SCHOOLS, our current Halloween Iphone 4S raffle give away, and Thank You cards!
