a louse-y day

Here at our Hair Fairies head lice treatment salon in CT we had a mom that was almost in tears when she came in. She had a newborn child and didn't want him getting head lice. We calmed her down by explaining our treatment process and soothing her nerves. At checkout time she was so at ease and happy with everything that she said, "Coming here felt so good, like that scene in the movie Coming To America when they are in the barber shop, you guys made me forget about the head lice problem, thank you so much for making my day" That's what we do here we make your day a better one. Dry Scalp or Not?

A young girl went to the school nurse because her head was itchy. The school nurse checked her hair and said you just have an itchy scalp. The girl tells the nurse "but I have never had an itchy scalp before." The nurse tells her "your scalp is dry, just get a special shampoo for dry scalp." The girl goes home that evening and tells her mom what the nurse had told her. The mom buys a special shampoo, but after 2 weeks, the girl is still complaining that her scalp is still itchy. A month later the school nurse had checked the girl's hair. The girl was looking at her hair in the mirror and saw something crawling. She picked it out her hair and showed it to her mom. The mom immediately went online to research what kind of bug it is. She found a bug who looked like what her daughter found, it was lice. The mom called the pediatrician to find out how to get rid of these bugs. The doctor recommended that she call Hair Fairies The Head Lice Helpers. She called and booked an appointment for lice treatment and for everyone in the house to get screened for lice. The girl had had lice for over a month and a half. The mom became furious that the nurse had not found it. We explained that school nurses most often don't know what they are looking for and that we have free lice screenings every month. So if she knew anyone who may have it to please refer them to us. They were so happy that they were able to get rid of this pesky problem. She was happy that only 2 out of 5 had gotten it. Holidays

Holidays!!! Tis the season to be with your love ones — whether its family, friends, a significant other, pet  or all the above…you know you're not alone. Which ever holiday you celebrate, you cherish the people and time you have with them. It may only be for that day, week or however long its nice  to know you're loved. That's how we feel about our clients at Hair Fairies. Even though we might see you only once or twice just know that we appreciate that you and your family allow us to make your days and holidays a little brighter!! Just because our clients may have lice does not mean they are not nice! HAPPY HOLIDAYS  = ) -Chi HF   

It’s a S and V situation, and we love it! San Francisco Hair Fairies

We have a family named the S.'s who have been working with us since Dec 26th to get their daughter lice free from a month long infestation. They recommended that their close friends, the V.'s come in and get screened for lice as well. These two families scheduled their appointments at the same time for the Saturday after Christmas. This would be a second visit for Girl S. and a preliminary screening for Girl V. The V.'s arrived first with a big bag of presents that they hid under our salons tree. When the S. family came in everyone went to the treatment room to get started. There was also a third family there with a little girl. All three little ladies got very chatty- it was very cute. Then, after 45 minutes, Girl V. was declared not to be infested with lice but she stayed and waited for her friend to complete her visit. At one point Girl V. left the lice treatment room and returned with the bag of Christmas gifts. Girl S. squealed and asked if she could hold her gifts while getting treated and her mom and I responded that she could open them. It was adorable and a treat to be a part of their belated Christmas celebration. Girl S. was elated with her presents but was somehow able to keep the bouncy excitement to a minimum so that I could still continue to comb lice out of her hair and finish her treatment. I just couldn't help but share this story, it tugged at my heart strings so!

  Discovering Head Lice You can be anywhere when you discover that you have head lice. Imagine discovering it while shopping at American Doll! A little girl was looking at the dolls when her mom saw something moving in her hair and sure enough it was a louse. Good thing that the mom had received a Hair Fairies Postcard in the mail and had saved the phone number in her cell…thinking at that time that someday she would probably need the lice treatment service. Now they are head lice free!!!!

American Girl Day

A family came to New York from Connecticut to take their daughter's doll to American Girl so that beauticians from American Girl could do the doll's hair. The place is illuminated with very bright lights, and as they were looking around the store, the little girl's mom was able to see head lice crawling on her daughter's hair. The mom remembered that she received a post card from Hair Fairies in her home in Connecticut, and wondered if there was a Hair Fairies lice salon in New York. She searched google on her phone for a Hair Fairies, and was so happy that there was a Hair Fairies in Midtown. She stepped out of the store to call Hair Fairies, and was delighted to hear they had available appointments for the same day. The family came in to Hair Fairies New York to receive their first lice treatment and made an appointment to have their second treatment in their hometown Connecticut. The family was so happy that we could help them solve their lice problem in both New York City and Connecticut!

Hair Fairies is like a Spa

A young boy came to our Hair Fairies NY lice treatment salon and described us as a spa. His massage while watching a movie with fresh minty scents all around made him feel very relaxed. He told his mother that he wants to come to Hair Fairies every weekend to wind down. We at Hair Fairies strive to make families feel comfortable at all costs. Killing lice doesn’t have to be a stressful experience for anyone!I think this is test positive we are doing the job!

  Pregnant and with Lice, Lice can sometimes interfere with plans especially when your pregnant. Harsh chemicals are not a good idea in general and when you are pregnant it is especially not good. Applying anything to the scalp ensures it will go straight into the blood stream quickly if there is any kind of small cut or leisure — which is common on the scalp.
