Hair Fairies: School Director Satisfied with Free Lice Screening

Earlier this week, a local after school program contacted Hair Fairies – The Head Lice Helpers LA to go in and check a small group of children for head lice. Our lead technician Devin went over and identified 8 children with head lice. As a courtesy, Devin left a container of Hair Fairies’ Eucalyptus Hand Soap to combat lice that gets on your hands while dealing with the problem and a container of Hair Fairies’ Lice Repellent Spray to combat lice in the classroom such as desks, book bags, and carpets. The program director was so grateful that he surprised our entire staff at our Hair Fairies LA location with a free lunch. Moms are stronger than Lice

  Moms are stronger than lice!   We had a mom today at our Chicago lice treatment salon who has been dealing with Head Lice for 2 weeks. She is the mother of two beautiful girls…all had long hair, including mom. Hair Fairies – The Head Lice Helpers to the Rescue anywhere and anyhow!  Although Hair Fairies books by appointment in one of our gorgeous lice removal salons nationwide or in the comfortable environment of your own home, we strive to work with all families depending on their needs and even the not-so-conventional spots to remove lice. You never know when lice is going to hit. You could be ANYWHERE. It's nice to know we at Hair Fairies are here to help manage your lice problem no matter what. So here is how the story went: Hair Fairies had a frantic family who called more than a few times. Unfortunately the daughter complained of itching while at their visit to the famous San Diego Zoo – so mom looked at her scalp. YES, IT WAS LICE!! Frantically Mom called to learn more about lice removal with Hair Fairies but did not want to put a stop to their fun filled day. Since they were in town visiting San Diego for the weekend, they were staying nearby our busy international shopping area and location. Our Hair Fairy lice removal technician came up with a solution to help them since the salon was soon to close for the day. The Hair Fairy technician would meet with the family at the nearby shopping area so they could carry on with their fun day AND Hair Fairies could help the family at the same time. They agreed and planned for an afternoon of lice treatments! As the Hair Fairy arrived to the location to meet the desperate family she noticed a child constantly itching her scalp. Was it another family with lice? Was it the family who needed her help who had scheduled? (Stranger things have happened believe us :)). YES it was them! Mom first asked if the hair fairy technician could have her daughter checked first!? There was no need for the check since our Fairy quickly understood just by standing next to everyone in the family…hey all needed to be treated and at that point the Hair Fairy saved the day by bringing them some of our products which are all natural and nontoxic for after treatment to ward off anymore lice out there!

Susan Ginger gathers all her family members to go take their annual valentines family antique-sepia tone portrait. She knows they will be putting on costumes that include vintage hats. She panics for a split second when she begins to think about the possibility of contracting head lice form the shared costumes. God Answers Prayers even when it comes to head lice!

A client came in with her daughter and she tells us her story of how God answered her prayers for finding a solution for her daughter’s hair lice. There had been an outbreak of head lice in her daughter's school, so she decides to check her daughter's hair for lice. She instantly sees head lice walking on her daughter's hair. She runs to a nearby Duane Reade and buys one of the over-the-counter lice removal products. She shampoos her daughter's hair, and then combs the lice out. The next day she takes her daughter to school and asks the nurse to please check her daughter's hair for lice. She tells the nurse what she found in her child's head. The nurse looks through the girl's head and says that she is clear of lice and ready to go back to school. The mom leaves her child at school and happily goes to work. A few days later, she is combing her daughter's hair and sees tons of nits (lice eggs). With tears running down her eyes, she cries "God please give me a sign!" She felt as if that was God answering her prayers. Lice to meet you- Hair Fairies! � Mike Rowe- Dirty Jobs on Discovery Channel

“Lice to meet you!” is the phrase Mike Rowe, Discovery Channel’s, “Dirty Jobs” host, used when he came to our Hair Fairies Head lice salon in San Francisco.  It was one of the most memorable experiences we had, educating the public on what we do as a full service head lice salon on TV!  The show was a hit and we have gotten a lot of calls when the show first aired. Even today, we would receive calls from Arizona, Alaska, Florida, and basically all over the United States from people who had watched the segment on lice removal. If you haven’t checked or watched Hair Fairies – the head lice helpers on Dirty Jobs on The Discovery channel, make sure you check your TV listings for Re-runs.  There were things that happened that were surprisingly good and entertaining, while educating about lice all at the same time!   In that regard, it was a very “Lice to Meet You” kind of moment!

  Hair Fairies in the news: In Chicago we had WGN come in a film a story at our lice treatment salon. We are so excited to see our team mates on TV again! The reporter asked the same questions mom’s usually ask. How many treatments does it take to kill lice? Are your lice products toxic? How do you keep the kids entertained?  We understand there are many questions parents have on a daily basis and this is why we are always here to help. We have a great video on our website that shows you step by step exactly how to identify head lice and how to treat it exactly the way our trained professionals do. Parents can also upload a photo to help them identify any thing they might think is hair lice, or they can simply walk into our salon! Hair Fairies – The Head Lice Helpers… more fun than a regular kid salon?! We recently had a family of 4 come in for lice treatment: two girls, mom and dad. Upon first coming into the salon, the girls where a lit bit scared. They thought they where going to be in very sterile and unfriendly environment. They quickly realized how relaxing, pretty and kid friendly the environment really is with cool things to do and… it looked like a regular salon! They had the option of: watching a DVD, playing with a nintendo DS, reading kid friendly books and magazines, coloring and/or chit chatting with their friendly technician while being treated for head lice. After their head lice treatment with Hair Fairies, mom decided to treat the girls to a regular kid salon and spa day. When the girls came back for there Guaranteed Lice Checks with Hair Fairies several days later they informed us that Hair Fairies was so much more fun

Lice, Google, Hair Fairies

This is a true Hair Fairies client story….A mother gets the dreaded call from her sons’ school: “Your son has head lice!”  “WHAT?” “LICE?” “How?” “Are you sure?”  She hangs up in disbelief. Frantically she starts to run around the house stripping the beds. She starts to wash all clothing in the house. Her older son is watching the chaos unfold in front of his eyes. He tells his mom to calm down. “CALM DOWN?” (Almost at a nervous breakdown) “Do you know they found head lice on your brother?” “Mom, RELAX! It’s no big deal. Just call Hair Fairies.”  She’s confused. “Hair Fairies?” “Yes, Hair Fairies -The Head Lice Helpers. They are the safe head lice solution for frantic families!” “How do you know?” “Duh Mom, I googled the word “lice.” She stopped the cleaning commotion, did some online research about lice and subsequently called Hair Fairies to book appointments for her children and herself.  This mom now says that she loves google, but she especially loves Hair Fairies LA for helping her and her children through the lice removal process.
