They Grow up so Fast

Hair Fairies has been around for over 15 years! Over that time, we have educated and serviced thousands of families across the country. Recently, one family came to our Chicago location to say goodbye. The reason why they were saying goodbye is because their youngest child had graduated recently from high school and is going to college shortly. We have known this family since 2007, when our Chicago location first opened up. Over the years, this family would come in either for head lice checks or treatments. We have seen these kids grow up in front of our very eyes. Since there are no more kids in the house, the parents have decided to leave the Midwest to seek new adventures. Before the new adventures began, she just wanted to say how much she enjoyed coming here in her time of need. We really do appreciate this gesture and hope for nothing but great things in the future.

World Cup Fever

Soccer fans (and Hair Fairies clients alike) rejoice! The FIFA World Cup is here! I have been patiently waiting for the past four years for the most awesome two weeks in soccer! This past Friday I was busy with clients and calls and all kinds of Hair Fairy work and could not bare the thought of missing out the Mexico vs Cameroon game. I desperately looked for a radio station that would play the game for me and had no luck. When I heard the little studio next door BLAST the game on their TV I was quick to RUN next door and ask them for a huge favor: please tap on the wall if Mexico scores. They were delighted to do so. So there I was, eager to hear anything, a little knock, a little tap…for a long time there was nothing! UNTIL IT HAPPENED! I though the yogis next door were going to knock the wall down!  Mexico won the game 1-0 and the coolest part is they agreed to knock on the wall for all the teams I'm cheering for until someone wins the cup! Happy FIFA games everyone! And may the best team (Mexico or USA of course 😉 ) win! 

Thank you N. Family from Florida who came to San FRancisco!

  We would like to say thank you to the N. family who came over to us from Florida AND from New York Manhattan for Head Lice treatments.     Mrs. N called a day before since she found us online and called.  We asked her to take pictures to send to us to verify, and from the pictures we were able to confirm.  The family flew in the next day and we were able to accommodate them.  The family is NOW Head Lice FREE!     We advised them of prevention methods and when they go back to Florida and New York, they can inform their daughter's school about our 2 Free Hour Head Lice Screening at Schools, and 20 percent off for treatments when we do find other kids in the school for our current promotion!

Another Myth

A client came into Hair Fairies because she had gotten head lice once again. She had no idea where she had gotten it, and said the only person she had been around was her sister. When she had told her sister that she should get checked her sister was positive that she couldn't have it because she had extensions. This is another myth. Extensions do not keep You safe from getting head lice. When the sister finally decided to come in, she did in fact have lice…extensions and all! and couldn't believe it. 

Sanity Check

Sanity Check, A mom came in to our Hair Fairies lice treatment salon in CT to have her lice removed after trying Over the counter pesticides for weeks without any luck. At this point she thought it would take a miracle to rid her of the head lice, so she came to us as her last resource. After her final treatment she came for her free lice guarantee check a week after and after finding out that she was free of lice she said "This was not just a check for lice but also a SANITY CHECK, since i thought that the lice was still moving in my head. Thanks for giving me my Sanity back".

A funny moment in Hair Fairies

A family came in because they suspected that their kids had head lice. The daughter had a treatment but the family had cut off all the son's hair, so when we checked him, we didn't find any lice. They got lucky because buzz cuts don't usually get rid of the head lice infestation. The boy had come into Hair Fairies with his friend. When the grandmother came into hair fairies a little later she walks up to her grandson not recognizing him and says, "hi, I'm Johnny's grandmother." The little boy looks at his grandmother and says "hi, I'm Johnny, your grandson." The grandmother couldn't believe she didn't recognize her grandson because of the buzz cut and started laughing, and everyone started laughing as well. Very funny moment for all of us at hair fairies.

    If you haven't heard from your doctor about our services, please let them know and refer Hair Fairies because we had a doctor who has been referring us! Not only did she refer her patients but her nurse who coincidentally needed head lice services!  We actually helped her and her family and she was appreciative and was more educated with head lice. She was so happy with the experience that she even asked if she can get more of our materials to another doctor's office she knows for referral!    We really like that people know and have been hearing from us from friends and family but having doctor offices refer us is another major key in educating us on head lice. So thank you to the office of Dr. Tessler!

Many blogs later, I want to personally thank all Hair Fairy clients, It is truly our honor to be the head lice helpers you call on for help!  We Care, Nurture and Educate, along with all of the laughs we share in between. You guys make our day! For that, we thank you and vow to always be there when you need us!  

Everyday is Halloween when you have Lice

Recently we had a dad come in to have his daughter treated for lice. While he was sitting and chatting with the technician he told us that when he was young his parents made he and his sister wear masks every time they got in the car. His father got a paper bag and cut eyes and a mouth for them to wear when they had to go anywhere in the car. He told us how embarrassing it was to be driving down the road with paper bag masks and how at every street light people would look in the car and give them a weird stare. He promised us, as well as his daughter, that he would never subject her to the paper bag mask and weird looks that go along with it. Needless to say his daughter was very thankful Hair Fairies existed.

Happy Girl

Happy Girl, A mom brought her three year old daughter to be treated for head lice and she was smiling in the chair once we put the Cinderella movie for her to watch that her mom said "OMG this is the happiest she's ever been, Do you guys need a picture of a child to show others how nice this is, because my daughter is sure having a lot of fun". After her lice treatment was done she was able to play with the toys, and boy did the mom had trouble trying to get her out of here. She was having so much fun that she didn't want to leave our Hair Fairies location in CT!!!
