Then the Connecticut location was not yet open so we went to New York City. We tried so many methods to remove the lice from our triplets 7 years ago and every method was not effective, very frustrating, and extremely time consuming. Bringing Families Together!

Recently, we had two different families being treated at the same time for head lice at our Chicago location. While they were being treated, two of the girls from different families started talking. The realized they were both in 3rd grade, liked the movie Frozen, and also played basketball. They hit it off so well that after the treatment, they had scheduled a play date in the near future. Hair Fairies has been bringing families together since 1999!

Our client came in with a gift! It was a box of chocolates and all of us were very thankful and satisfied! Our director of operations actually went around and pass the chocolates around so we could have them while we were with our clients!

When the day comes when all of us know the saying, "playing Hair fairies" would probably be the day Head lice infestation would be at an all time low :-)  We had a mother who came in to drop this picture of her kids playing hair fairies. It was such an adorbs moment and a proud one too for all us. They have been with Hair Fairies and were screened for head lice. We even came to their school to check their classmates.

  A willing husband, We had a client at our Hair Fairies Treatment Salon in CT, that found out she had head lice after taking a shower in the middle of the night and towelling herself dry. She starts crying and her husband sees her desperation and volunteers to comb her out. After a while of combing her, she starts asking her husband "did you comb me out this way, that way?", to this he starts to loose his patience and tells her "I married you for LIFE not for LICE". At that point she had to laugh and was able to relax a bit. When she came to Hair Fairies I told her to give thanks to her willing husband because a least he was willing to help her out!

Its Better to be Safe than Sorry

Recently, we had a family come in that had head lice. While we were working on the family, the mother had mentioned that her children had head lice two years ago. Every since then, she would apply our prevention oil around their hairline. FOR 2 YEARS! This school, she thought her children were old enough, and probably not at risk of getting head lice anymore, so she stopped using the prevention oil. 2 months later, her daughters got it again. In conclusion, it's better to be safe than sorry. The best prevention you can do for girls is keeping the hair up and tight, with a dime sized amount of prevention oil around the hairline.

Secret Service Mini Workers

New Yorkers are known for being very hard workers, and one of our little hair fairies client started young. A mom and I were talking about work, when her daughter tells me, "I work too." I told her that is awesome. She starts telling me of a secret service club that she has where they help others. She showed me her business card, and showed me a folder, where they write about the different cases they have. She gave me a business card, and let me take a photo of her folder before she left. 

No Weather Can Stop Us

This week, our Chicago location has been dealing with EXTREMELY cold weather. Most places even shut down due to the cold, BUT NOT Hair Fairies! During this time, they had a client that noticed her daughter had unfortunately picked up a case head lice. She lived over an hour away and tried to find someone that could help her. Hair Fairies came to the rescue and were able to get everyone in their family checked/treated. No weather can stop us from helping you!

Fashionable bun

A client came into Hair Fairies for a treatment, and explained she had a concert she was attending after her treatment at Hair Fairies. She feared not having enough time to go home and doing her hair, since her hair was very long and she knew it would take a while to go through her whole head. After the treatment gave her a very fashionable bun, and she was so delighted to have such a nice do for her event. 

What product should I use to treat my child?

What a parent describes that their child has head lice, they always ask themselves "what product should I use to treat my child?" First let's start with over the counter products. There are no over-the-counter or prescription treatments to kill lice that are totally safe and scientifically proven to be 100% effective against head lice and nits. These treatments are potentially harmful pesticides and reliance on them promotes repeated use and contributes to ongoing infestations, outbreaks and resistant strains of head lice.  Manual removal of the live lice and nits is the safe alternative and a necessary component of any head lice treatment regimen.  At Hair Fairies, with our all natural products and metal lice comb, we manually remove all live lice and nits, in order to leave your child free of head lice.
