To Have Lice Or Do Not Have Lice?? I get calls from many clients asking what does lice and/or nits look like. Also, clients say they were checked already, so they're only worried about the kids. I always ask whether they were checked dry or wet. Usually the answer is dry but the way we guaranteed that your lice free is performing a dry check and wet comb through with a lice comb. Its the best way to make sure there is no bugs in your hair that might move away from the area your checking while dry.- HFChi

It's Turkey Licey Time!!! Yes, another wonderful holiday season is coming by. When family you haven't seen in awhile will gather together to enjoy a well prepared dinner and good cheer. Not In My House!

With the Holiday’s coming up families are making sure they are lice free before they travel and visit loved ones. They want to make sure that when they visit their loved ones they aren’t leaving a little extra gift behind. Here in Dallas we have a lot of college students coming home for the holidays and moms want to make sure they don’t come home to visit and leave them a little extra surprise when they leave. We had a concerned mother call Hair Fairies Dallas and book a lice screening for her daughter. She said, “I want to schedule it right after she lands so she goes straight from the airport to Hair Fairies, she’s not coming in my house without a letter from you!” We worked with her schedule and her daughter took a taxi straight from the airport to our salon. She was lice free and we made sure we gave her a letter for her mother stating that. Thankfully they will be having a lice free turkey day!

  Mom in tears, I was on my way back from lunch with a slice of pizza in hand, to our Hair Fairies Treatment Salon in CT when I see a mom with tears in her eyes and getting her daughter out of the car. I approached her and asked, "are you going to Hair Fairies?". She said "yes my daughter has lice and I don't know what I'm I going to do". She was a nervous wreck. I said to her well if your little one has lice she is in the right place. You have nothing to worry about. I am on my lunch break right now but I'll put my pizza down and screen her. As I was doing our head lice screening process I was educating the mom on head lice and noticed that the little girl never had lice. She had been in the park and had wood chips on the scalp and throughout the hair and mom had confused it with head lice. When I showed the mom what head lice looks like, she let out a sigh of relieve and was very appreciative that I had stopped my lunch break to help her.

SF Halloween Wild Wild West!

We had a blast dressing up as cowboys, native americans, and a burlesque aka saloon lady for this year's Halloween festivities at Hair Fairies in San Francsico!  We all thought of Disney's Princesses themes initially but some of the techs were not in favor of that…so we went with Cowboys and the rest was history!  Jessica face painted Tina's so they were glam'ed up Native Americans, while Connie dressed it up in a corset as a saloon Lady.  It was spontaneous yet worked out in the end.  We called our theme Wild wild West!

magic bugs

  Magic Bugs "Mom, I have magic bugs in my hair, now you see it…now you don't" was the comment that a six year old told his mom when he was brushing his hair in front of the mirror after taking a shower before bed. The mom not making anything of it started checking her son's hair and discovered that he had nits, but didn't see any bugs. She panicked not knowing what to do at that time of night and started searching online. Little did she know there was a service like our Hair Fairies treatment salon in CT to rid you of head lice. She called our location immediately, left a message and was able to come to us first thing in the morning. We took the time to explain everything to her. She was a little bit confused about not seeing the bugs when she was searching in her son's hair, and later discovered that he did in fact still have bugs when we were treating him. I explained you'll not be able to see the bugs. And when you part the hair they move away from the light and activity. Most importantly if you see nits then you KNOW definitively that at some point you must have or had a bug in your hair. That is why at Hair Fairies not only do we remove lice but we also educate you!

My favorite hair place!!!

My favorite hair place!!! We had a fun time with a mom at our Hair Fairies salon in CT. She said "You guys must feel very proud of yourselves the way you handle kids. You have my daughter saying this is her favorite hair place in the world. I wish the hair salon i take her to get her hair cut was this nice… you should open a hair salon for kids as well. You guys are fantastic!!!" The mom was happy to know that they were all lice free after our treatments and she said she wouldn't hesitate for a second to come back here if they ever got head lice again. The kids positive opinion's matter to us because they are sincere and it shows that we at Hair Fairies are doing our job, which is to rid you of head lice while having a good time!!!

Hair Fairies Care! San Francisco Hair Fairies

This week, we at Hair Fairies in San Francisco, had the wonderful experience of being able to provide help, education and comfort to people who can't afford our salon services. With the dedicated assistance of a public school guidance counselor, we were able to put together a workshop for parents, teaching them how to treat their children and homes for head lice. Together with the school, who invested in this problem for their families, we were able to provide these parents with products at wholesale prices. Along with the demonstration and the questions we were able to answer, these parents are now prepared to handle head lice calmly and with minimal stress. Both the families and school were very happy and thanked us warmly for making the extra effort to bring these solutions to them.
