One Glass Of Wine

One Glass Of Wine, "All I need is a glass of wine, a pedicure and a manicure to actually feel like I'm in a spa" Were the words of a mother visiting our Head Lice Treatment salon in CT after having her lice removed. So often our lice removal salons are compared to a "spa like experience". She said that it felt like having a scalp massage and that she would've enjoyed it better if it wasn't for the head lice. After we explained everything to her she was more at ease with the whole lice epidemic going around in her circle of friends. She was very much surprised to find out that most of the articles that she had read online were inaccurate.

Debates at Hair Fairies

It's a normal afternoon here at Hair Fairies the Head Lice Helpers salon in LA. It's a pretty busy with 6 delousing stations going at the same time. Beyonce is playing on the radio, the atmosphere is fun and energetic. The technicians start debating on who they like best: Beyonce or Rihanna. The two moms we had at 2 of the stations decided to join the debate. After about 45 minutes of back and forth friendly arguments it still wasn't settled. The room was equally divided. Some like Beyonce better, some like Rihanna better. But the best statement throughout this debate was from our little 6 year old at station 5; "I think Hair Fairies should like Rihanna more because nits, they shine bright like a diamond!" The room bursted with laughter. Even with such a cute statement Beyonce fans would not budge 🙂 Leaving the debate unsettled: which one of the two artist do you like best?

“In a line checking for Head Lice” HF San Fracisco

If monkeys can stand in a line to pick out lice then we can do it too! Some of us at Hair Fairies were feeling pretty itchy on our heads, so the only right thing to do was to get a head lice screening! So we did just that! We thought it was ergonomic to stand in a line and check each other for head lice.  Lol…It was a figure of speech but I'm sure and somehow it may work out if we stood in lines and comb each other out.

  Random Help: Always on Lice Duty! While one of my technicians was at the bank cashing his Hair Fairies payroll check, the teller asked what he did based on the name on his check(Hair Fairies). He told her it was a clinical salon that is solely dedicated to the removal of head lice for children and their families. To their surprise, they were startled by the bank manager who ran out and asked if she could get Hair Fairies telephone number because her friends' kids are dealing with lice 🙂 The Technician happily obliged. What a great random way of spreading the great lice removal service we provide!!!

Hair Fairies to Burning Man! our Lead tech in San Francisco

Constance M. reporting in: This week at Hair Fairies SF, we learned that one of our lice free clients will be attending the 2013 week long Burning Man Art Festival event. Our very own Lead Tech will also be in attendance so, they chatted a bit about the event. The client is excited because this is her yearly “me time” without her children or husband. Our Lead Tech noted that the event does have a specialized children’s area full of families, but the client doesn’t like the idea of having her kids out in extreme weather or having them out there after having just undergone the lice removal process which can sometimes be stressful on a mom. Our Lead Tech agreed and also promised not to shout out “Hey! I remember you from the default world! I helped rid your family of head lice, remember?”. The client was grateful for this promise. But for all those other parents taking your children to the event, remember prevention is key. Make sure you gear up with Hair Fairies lice repellant spray and prevention oil.

“Daycare in a day away!” San Franscisco Hair Fairies

We had a mother client who came in with her family and she was able to get us into her children's day care for a lice screening.  We call this blog "Daycare in a day away" because it was simple, easy, and fast!  The mother contacted the director of the daycare, and we were able check the kids just a day away.

Camp Season

As soon as your children get home from camp bring them into Hair Fairies to get screened. If they have head lice, you don't want to take it home and spread to other family members. Many children are coming home from camp. The only way to make sure that your child does not have any critters in their head is getting them checked and treated for lice if needed. Better safe than sorry.

Celebrities Get It Too

  Celebrities Get it Too I know most think certain types of people can only get lice. That's just not true. Doesn't matter if your ON the biggest or littlest screen or performing at a sold out concert or small around the corner venue….anyone can get head lice.  And everybody is treated the same.  In light of this just recently at the Hair Fairies Chicago location in Lincoln Park; we had a family come in to be treated. When dad came in for his screening we were just chatting away and what he did for a living came up. I recognized the band he was from. It was a pleasant surprise to just hang out and talk to him and his family (not just about his music but anything and everything). I really enjoyed the way my day ended because of the authenticity and understatedness of this family 🙂

Family Love

The closer the family is the more likely it is for other family members to have head lice.  A client who came into the salon called it "family love". The closer and more affectionate the family is the more head lice is spread.  So I guess in some ways if the whole family gets head lice it means you have a lot of…FAMILY LOVE
