What you need to know for the month of February at Hair Fairies!

Did you know Hair Fairies have a press release every month? You can find this press release on our bulletin at each one of our head lice salons.  The cool thing about these releases is that we may have special promotions, giveaways, and tidbits that can help with head lice treatments.   If you haven’t read our press release for the month of February, we are offering 25 % off lice removal services for clients who must repeat treatments within six months.  On top of that, we are offering that discount to clients who refer other clients.  Furthermore, if you refer and/or book a school screening with the school administrator, your treatments will be discounted for 25 % off! �Hair Fairies! Did you know there�s an iPhone App for Lice?!�

Apps or Application programs for mobile devices have been becoming popular these days.  Here at Hair Fairies Salon-San Francisco, it came to our notice that there are apps for Head Lice!  And yes, not just one app, but two, and not just two, but three of them!  This information stemmed from our clients who had mentioned to us that there are Lice Apps on the iPhone that give out head lice information.    I did some research of my own and load and behold…..there are currently three apps!  The first app is an actual game where it looks like you can plant lice on any photo that you post.  The other two were information programs for Head lice and Bed Bugs.  Check them out if you’re curious and interested!  The only disclaimer is only view them for your pleasure.  If you have any real questions and concerns, please call us!    We have 11 years of experience solely dealing with Head Lice, so if you have any questions on the matter don’t hesitate to call us.  The apps are fun and all, but again, please make sure to contact Hair Fairies and or the Center of Disease and Control when it comes to head lice questions.      

Did you know Hair Fairies give out Free Head Lice Screenings?

We are a Clinical Salon solely dedicated to the removal of Head lice treatments and screenings.  But did you know we also offer Free head lice checks in schools and sometimes in our salons?  Please call into any of our location and ask us how and why?!   We have been working with schools in our neighborhoods when we first open up about 11 years ago and each location have been working with schools to help check the students for early detection and prevention.  We often times offer 2 FREE hours of lice screenings to schools that have not used us before and or have experienced an outbreak.  On top of that, there were special promotional days where all of our Hair Fairies location offered Free Head Lice Checks for the day.   The result and outcome through these Free Screenings have been helpful for both parties, from parents who are concerned about the kid’s classmates to extended family members who can get screened for head lice.  Also, Schools who needed further assistance with head lice checks would allow us to check their kids when there was an outbreak.  Overall, the focus is trying to control or handle the matter not just in one family but as a community.  We have gotten moms who would call their schools right away when they brought their kids in and were tested positive.   This has been an effective approach! 

Did you know we will have a Hair Fairies Head Lice Salon in Fairfield, Connecticut?!

  If you haven’t been informed about how many Hair Fairies-The Head Lice Helpers stores there are currently in the United States then just remember to add two more onto the list this year!!!  We are excited to announce that Hair Fairies will be coming to stay and open in Connecticut.  The location will be in Fairfield and the exact address is:  63 Unquowa Road, Fairfield Connecticut 06824.   This is an exciting time for us and for Connecticut-tizens.  Connecticut-tizens are people who live in Connecticut and they will have Hair Fairies helping to nurture and help out with Head lice screenings and treatments!  Remember to call and ask us any questions and know that we are offering FREE CHECKS when the store opens up.   The second store will be in Dallas and to be announced!   It will be in University Park.  I am looking forward to blog Dallas when we get more news!!!  

Ringing in the New Year with School Screenings at Hair Fairies – San Francisco!

Hair Fairies San Francisco would like to thank all the schools who have invited us to do head lice screenings this week!  We are very delighted to help out and dry check almost 1000 students this week!  We had school checks booked consecutively from Monday to Wedsneday and we are coming back to follow up on one school come Friday.  What a way to ring in the new years with school screenings because early detection is key! 

“A Lice-mare before Christmas” at Hair Fairies San Francisco!

  We had a call from a dad a few days ago and the call struck a chord in my memory bank that I have to share it with you in this blog.  It wasn’t something that was neither problematic nor difficult to resolve, but it was something the dad said which fit with the occasion and made the whole head lice treatment experience just worth sharing.  It was days before Christmas and I had a concerned Dad who had found nits, A.K.A Head Lice eggs on his daughter’s hair.  There were no visible signs of the crawlies, A.K.A head lice bugs, but only nits.  The dad booked the appointment for his daughter and his family was screened and treated.  When they left after their treatments, the dad thanked us for our services, but also added how grateful it was to be helped.  He said, “It was literally and would be a Lice-Mare before Christmas, if I haven’t found you guys earlier!”    Hope everyone had a joyous Holiday and let’s welcome the New Year with a bang of no "Lice-mares" on Christmas or on any holiday occasions!

Did you know Santa Hats can prevent you from getting Head Lice in San Francisco?

It’s not just Santa Hats, but any hat or hair coverings would do!  Santa hats are just way cooler and Christmas Eve is inching ever so closely, so our Hair Fairies in San Francisco are delighted to put on our Santa hats and greet you in person when you come in and into any of our Hair Fairies Locations.  Not only do we have the holiday spirit but if you do have an appointment with us, please show us your holiday spirit and come in with your Santa hats, bells, and Christmas-sy accessories.   Furthermore, it’s worth the prevention when you have your own hat without sharing it with anyone else.  Having your hair covered can help lower the risk of transmission, so wearing a protective covering over your hair is vital in preventing a bug from crawling onto your hair and head.  It’s important to always have your own separate hat or hair coverings.   If someone else uses the item, you can use our lice repellent spray and or wash it with our Laundry Additive, both in which kill head lice. 

Did you get a free check on our “FREE Head Lice checks for the Day” promo on December 14th, 2011 at Hair Fairies?!

San Francisco Hair Fairies is reporting in with our promo. "FREE Head Lice SCREENINGS for the day".  On December 14th, 2011 all Hair Fairies location, which include Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, San Diego, and San Francisco took part in giving all booked appointments complimentary Lice Screenings.  We received a lot of extended families as a result and it was worth it!  This was great, since we do highly urge everyone in the immediate family to be screened.  The risk of exposure to head lice is high when it comes to family gatherings. Head lice, especially the bugs, can be transferred sometimes and rather quickly when there is contact with and within other family members.    We at San Francisco would also like to report in that no one who booked for the free screenings had it and were clear!  This is a great time to also suggest that early detection is key, so make sure to get a routine head lice screening for your kids so we can catch it sooner than later. It’s the gift that keeps on giving!

If you have visited  or stepped into any of our locations whether  it be Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, San Diego, and or San Francisco we have our Christmas Trees waiting to greet  you!  Here in San Francisco, we treat head lice and treatments especially the holiday season can be anything but hectic especially when you are dealing with this type of bugger.   Our Christmas tree is topped and decorated with candy canes and that the kids can take home when they are done with their treatments.  Here in San Francisco, we would like to say that this resembles the meaning of the season, that it’s the thought of giving.  If you haven’t heard about our special promo for this December, we are offering free Lice Screenings on December 14th, 2011.  We would like to ease that piece of mind and to help as much as we can to check for head lice on that very special day!  Come one come all!

Uku from Hawaii is the thing to say!

Move over “Mele Kalikimaka” because “Ukus” is the new black!  If you haven’t realized, the term Mele Kalikimaka is a Hawaiian-themed song that means Merry Christmas.  Christmas is wonderful and all, but there’s a new word in town, and its Head lice! or “Uku” (ooooh-koos) We had a family from hawaii who taught us the term.  We even have gotten families who have called us directly from the state, asking about our services, products, and how they found us on Dirty jobs!
