“To a Louse”- Poem- from Poet Robert Burns” Hair Fairies San Francisco

We had a client (a grandfather) who recommend a poem called "To a Louse" from a Scottish Poet name Robert Burns.  In the poem a louse is found in a woman's bonnet. The poet chastises the louse for not realizing how important his host is. He then realizes that to a louse we are all equal prey. He finally has the understanding that if we could see ourselves through others eyes (or the eyes of lice) we would lose our pretentions all together. O wad some Pow'r the giftie gie us To see oursels as ithers see us! It wad frae mony a blunder free us, An' foolish notion: What airs in dress an' gait wad lea'e us, An' ev'n devotion! English Translation: And would some Power the small gift give us To see ourselves as others see us! It would from many a blunder free us, And foolish notion: What airs in dress and gait would leave us, And even devotion! Fascinating and very philosophically natured!  We love it so much!  Thanks Mr. Grandfather client in recommending this to us!

Oh Husband!

Oh Husband!   We had a frantic mother call Hair Fairies wanting to come in with her daughter for a treatment. When we told her to come on in she was ecstatic.  She and her daughter both ended up having lice and came in for a full treatments. It was her husband who was hesitant to come in because he was positive he did not have lice. After many phone calls, texts, and threats of having him sleep on the couch, he booked for a screening. Dad ended up rescheduling twice finally coming in a few days later. As he was getting screened his wife was texting him and made him take picture of himself sitting in the chair to prove he had really been to Hair Fairies and not a sports bar. We gladly obliged with a few pictures of him in the chair getting combed out. Before leaving we made sure to give him a letter for his wife stating he was lice free and able to sleep in the same bed with her. Glad to say Hair Fairies was able to help rid a family of head lice and keep a couple happy!

Getting ready for the spring

Now that the weather is getting warmer, kids will be out playing a lot more and people will be having more playdates. A lot of girls like having their hair down and insist it be no other way. Parents always remember to TRY and keep your child's hair back to keep the head lice away.

Hidden treasure

Hidden Treasure Hidden treasure is what a client called us when she discovered our head lice treatment salon in CT. She had been trying at-home lice remedies and pesticides without any success. When she finally decided to call her doctor for advice…guess what he said!?… "just go to Hair Fairies. It's the cheaper better solution". She had no idea there was a service like ours. She and her daughter were very happy not only to have had their lice removed but also to be educated on the subject. Her parting words were: "You guys have a hidden treasure here, and one that I was very happy and fortunate to have found".

Thank You for the lovely colorful drawings!

Our little Hair Fairies clients drew us pictures to put on our wall for the season!  We deeply appreciate these generous gifts.  If you step into any of our Hair Fairies Head Lice Salon Locations nationwide you'll get to see an abundance and array of different picture drawings.  Recently, after we treated a family for lice, the two daughters came up to one of our hair fairy technicians and presented these drawings.  Thank you and we'll gladly hang these onto our wall!  AND we love that they recommend us!! What to look for

What to look for When parents see their child scratching their head they think of head lice immediately but do not know what they are looking for when checking their child's head for lice. Here are some very magnified pictures of lice so you too know what to look for!

Donating hair

Donating Hair When donating hair there are some guidelines that need to be followed. One of them is the hair has to be lice and nit free. Here at our Hair Fairies lice treatment salon in CT came a wonderful lady feeling sad after discovering that she couldn't donate her hair because she had lice. It was discovered at the salon where she went to have her haircut . After growing it for nearly three years for this special cause she was considerably upset. She explained that this cause was very dear to her heart. And using Hair Fairies lice removal services was a godsend for her. After completing her head lice treatment she was happy that finally she was going to be able to donate her hair to Locks Of Love.

happy women’s day to us all!!!

Happy women's day to us all !!! "I believe in strong women. I believe in the woman who is able to stand up for herself. I believe in the woman who doesn't need to hide behind her husband's back. I believe that if you have problems, as a woman you deal with them, you don't play victim, you don't make yourself look pitiful, you don't point fingers. You stand and you deal. You face the world with a head held high and you carry the universe in your heart." – C. JoyBell C.

It’s a Dirty Job, but Someone’s Gotta Do It!

We recently had a frantic mother call in to Hair Fairies wanting to book a lice treatment for her daughter. She mentioned how she had been dealing with head lice for over two months and she was tired of trying to get rid of it herself. While attempting to treat her daughter at home yet again, her daughter was dreading spending days on the kitchen counter being combed out by mom. That is when her daughter told her, “Why don’t you just take me to Hair Fairies and it’s done!”    Apparently her daughter watched an episode of Dirty Jobs where Hair Fairies was featured and thought it was a great idea to visit next time she had head lice. That time came sooner rather than later so mom made an appointment to come in to our newest lice salon here in Dallas. I am happy to say they had a great experience and the best part about it, is that they are lice free! This was one time mom was happy her daughter was watching TV.

This is how San Francisco Salon celebrated our 14th Birthday!

Happy birthday to Hair Fairies! We can’t believe 14 years has passed by us so quickly! It was a pleasant surprise for all our technicians when they came in Saturday morning for our monthly meeting and find cupcakes awaiting them. In celebration of Hair Fairies birthday each location had cupcakes ready for each technician. Here in San Francisco, we had red velvet, tiramisu, smores, and dark chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. The cupcakes were purchased from a popular cupcake company called “Cakos”. It was sure delicious! Thank you Hair Fairies and to our owner, Maria Botham, for letting all the hair fairy lice removal technicians join in the celebration. Happy birthday to us and many more years to come!
